The Great Zodiac Hoax of 1969 by Thomas Horan: You can find several podcast interviews with Thomas Horan, who claims that Zodiac was "a hoax." Horan believes that Zodiac was a character that was created to strike fear into the people of the bay area as well as keeping the police busy chasing their own tails, while the conspirators were up to no good. I had suggested before that maybe Zodiac was just a cover for a drug ring and people laughed at me. So Horan's ideas are very interesting to me. He goes into great detail and gives a lot of background and information on the people he thinks may have been behind the crimes. The Napa Co. Sheriff's Office was very corrupt so this is all very possible and people should at least look into it before laughing it off and saying that it is not true.

"In 1961 Hal joined the Napa Police Department as a dispatcher and in 1962 became a deputy at the Napa County Sheriff’s Department. He specialized in crime scene and narcotic investigations and was in charge of the crime laboratory. He was recognized by the U.S. Supreme Court as an expert in narcotics and fingerprint identification. He also taught scientific crime investigation for the criminal justice department of Napa Community College." I have not seen this video yet but just came across it while surfing the Youtubes. I have not seen or heard Horan mention Bucky Stewart at all, but if his theory is correct then I would think that Stewart was somehow involved in all the crimes being committed by the Napa Co. Sheriffs office. I also have not heard or seen Horan mention the Land bros. I'm not sure if he is just stuck on Hal Snook as a suspect and has not looked into these other guys, or maybe he just hasn't felt like they were worth mentioning. I will see if I can get in touch with Mr. Horan and try to get him to post here. I will post info on Ray Land and Bucky Stewart, but I'll leave the Snook info to Horan to post and if he declines then I will post what I know about Snook. I hope you all keep an open mind and see that this could very well be possible - that the Napa Co. Sheriffs office was behind the Zodiac murders. This guy here accuses Stewart of being Z, although it's hard to know if he is telling the truth or just making shit up: UPDATE: I just came across Thomas Horan's website, and he does post some info on the Land Bros. zodiackillerhoax1986.freeforums.net/

Well, I had a lot of info on the Land bros, Bucky Stewart and Hal Snook, but it was scattered in a few different places on the old site. I can't seem to find a majority of it, so I will post what I can find and hopefully will find the rest..... The Land's in the 1940 census: www.ancestry.com/1940-census/usa/California/Raymond-Land_2j6gbsDennis Land obituary: napavalleyregister.com/news/local/obituaries/dennis-land/article_058eeeb6-3484-11df-989c-001cc4c002e0.htmlDennis William Land, a descendant of pioneer Napa families, passed away March 17, 2010. The St. Helena native was born Aug. 12, 1937, to William and Anita True Land. He attended local schools, graduating from Napa High School in 1955 and later receiving his Associate of Arts degree from Napa Junior College. In the late 1950’s he joined the U.S. Army as a military policeman and served at Fort Ord and later in Frankfurt, Germany. For many years he worked the Lake Berryessa region as a park ranger for Napa County, retiring in 1989. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years by working part time with his friends at Pridmore Brothers Construction Company as well as gardening, hunting, cooking and baking bread, which he generously shared with family and friends. He leaves behind his father, William Land, brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Linda Land, a nephew, Christian Land, and many friends. Private services will be held. Ray Land, year unknown... I would guess maybe late 50's or early 60's, but I don't know when he started working at the sheriff's office: ***Now picture him with some horn-rimmed glasses. Ray Land in the mid 60's
