Cold Case Murder Inside Church Patterson CA ?
I'm looking for an old "cold case murder" that happened either in the 60's or 70's ( I think) that was inside a church. I think it was in Patterson, CA. It might have been in Grayson, Newman or Crowslanding; one of those little towns just outside Modesto to the West. In Stanislaus County, CA
I think it was the pastor's wife who had been beat and stabbed to death. It's been a LONG time since I was looking at that case, and now I can't find it.

Grasshopper posted: Does this help at all? www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/suspect-1974-california-church-murder-appears-kill-self-n887641______________ thanks Grasshopper for trying to help find it, but no this is not the case I'm looking for. The one I'm looking for I really thought was in Patterson, CA, out not far from the 132 / Maze, the road branches off maze out there by where KJ was picked up. It goes to a couple of very tiny towns out there at the time, Patterson, Crowslanding, Newman. Grayson and Gustine. If i remember right it was the pastor's wife who was killed, stabbed. I always wondered at the time if maybe it was The Zodiac. Also the Delta Mendota runs right through there. I personally believe this was part of The Zodiac's stomping grounds; more on that later. but then I ran into this news article that Ophion posted over either in the news articles or communications thread, and it was something supposedly The Zodiac sent in and said he was going to kill someone in a church or that he did. It was in another town, but they could not find anything there at all. Maybe he was referring this old case that I can't find. So I'm trying to find it to compare with what The Zodiac wrote. Let me go find the communication, and try to get it over here.

Apparently the killer's DNA was found on her clothing. It was the security guard who said he locked the doors to the church and when he unlocked the doors the next morning, he found her body there.
Before she was murdered she sent a letter to one of her friends, telling of an incident in an elevator. She said there was a man in the elevator who wouldn't reply to her when she said hello to him, she found that strange. I of course related that to my suspect who did the same thing to me when ever I would say hello to him. I knew he was a serial killer and that they look at their victims as objects, so I did my best to humanize myself to this very scary man who I knew wanted to kill me for what ever reason.
Also that Arlis was upset that night about the tire on their car needing some air. I thought that could be a clue to Zodiac and his disabling cars. So for all these yrs I believed She was another victim, plus it was one day off of the Stine anniversary!
