We will start with the brothers, John and Michael..... John Charles Carr (aka 'Wheaties')Born: Oct. 12, 1946 Yonkers, NY Died: Feb. 17, 1978 Minot, ND (by gunshot) at a military base.-Schizophrenic -His death was suspicious. John died of a gunshot wound in his girlfriend's house at the Minot Air Force base in Minot, ND. His girlfriend, Linda O'Connor, was estranged from her husband, Craig, who had moved out of their home on the base. -It is believed by many that John was murdered, and that it was made to look like a suicide. The autopsy raised some questions about the body actually being John. Perhaps he did not die that day. -John was in the Air Force but had left about a year and a half prior to his death.Michael Vail Carr Born: June 12, 1952 Yonkers, NY Died: Oct. 3, 1979 Manhattan, NY (car accident)-Michael was a scientologist. -May have been involved in credit card fraud. -Rumors have stated hat Michael used an alias of M.V. Deczarnkowski. This would make sense, M.V. for Michael Vail, and the Carr family was the "Czar" family before changing it to Carr. It is also said that another alias he used was Baron De Czarnkowski. -Had a high IQ and was a good writer.Their father, Sam Car..... Samuel Frances CarrBorn: Sept, 14, 1912 Died: March 21, 1996

I am flipping through some old (Yonkers) Charles E. Gorton High School yearbooks to see if I can find photos of either Carr brother, and just a few pages into the first book (1966), I notice a chemistry teacher named Ethel Berkowitz. I wonder if she is related to David. I don't have a whole lot of time to explore that at the moment and will come back to it, but I did find an Ethel Berkowitz from Queens in the 1940 census. She was born around 1904, so not the Ethel I'm looking for, but she did have a husband and son both named David Berkowitz. Interesting. David the father was born around 1903 and the son David was born around 1935. Strange coincidence.
I did not find either Carr brother in the 1966 yearbook, so I moved on to 1964. John is a senior in this book, and his senior photo I believe was shown in the Netflix docu-series.
The yearbook has a senior directory, which lists Carr's address at 316 Warburton Ave. This is the house that Manny Grossman showed in one of his videos, right off of the trail he was walking, which is right next to Wicker St. So it would seem that the Carr family had lived in that house for a good while.
In the back of the yearbook there are a lot of student signatures. I only had a brief moment to glance at it and did not see John's signature, but I'll take a closer look later on. Here is the link: www.classmates.com/siteui/yearbooks/229470?page=155
EDIT: Right after I posted this I think I found Carr's signature. It's right in the middle.
John is also in the 1965 yearbook, and I would assume the 1964 as well but I have not looked yet. I have not looked for any yearbook photos of Michael Carr at the moment but will do that in the next week or so, as well as doing a lot more research on the brothers.
Is Ethel Berkowitz even worth looking into? Probably not, but I'm a nerd and will see what I can find anyways. She was a teacher at John Carr's school while he was a student there, so it is worth exploring.

One of the SoS letters mentions "John 'Wheaties' - Rapist and suffocater of young girls." Was this saying that Carr was a serial killer???

I was wondering the same thing, and I think that "The Wicked King Wicker" probably is referring to Michael Carr. The Carr residence was not on Wicker St., but was right next to it.

Berkowitz claimed that the Carr brothers were each responsible for 1 SoS shooting. One composite looks just like John One looks just like Michael I think this is true and that Berkowitz was being honest He also claimed that one of the shootings was committed by a friend of the Carrs, a man from California that had the alias 'Manson II'
